THE SHIT LIST
Terms of Service
Effective September 2, 2026
Agreement and eligibility
By accessing or using The Shit List, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement.
How the service works
The Shit List is a public, opinion-based leaderboard. A signed-in account may make one permanent contribution by choosing an existing item or creating a new item with a name and image. A contribution cannot be changed, transferred, or withdrawn through the service after it is confirmed.
One account is not necessarily one physical person. We may use reasonable technical and moderation controls to protect the list, but we do not promise that every participant is unique.
Accounts
Google sign-in is provided through Supabase Auth. You are responsible for your Google account and for activity performed through it. Do not attempt to bypass the one-contribution limit, interfere with authentication, probe private systems, or disrupt the service.
Items and images you submit
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, resize, display, and distribute it only as needed to operate, secure, and promote the service.
You may submit content only when you have the right to use it. Do not submit illegal content; threats; targeted harassment; private personal information; sexual content involving minors; malware; impersonation; defamatory factual allegations; or content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights. Do not use the service to target private individuals. Entries express contributors' opinions and must not be presented as verified factual claims.
Moderation
We may reject, hide, quarantine, or remove content and may restrict access when we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, creates legal or safety risk, abuses the service, or threatens reliable operation. Removing an item does not obligate us to let an account contribute again.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, preservation of every item or image, or any particular ranking or audience size.
Disclaimers
The service and all user-submitted content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability. Rankings and entries are opinions and are not professional advice or verified statements of fact.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, The Shit List and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, reputational harm, or damages arising from user-submitted content or inability to use the service. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the revised Terms. Questions can be sent to the user-support email displayed on the Google sign-in consent screen.
